Methylphenidate ER Capsules Dosage and Administration Pretreatment Screening Pediatric patients younger than 6 years of age experienced higher plasma exposure than patients 6 years and older at the same dose and high rates of adverse reactions, most notably weight loss. Methylphenidate Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD ) in patients 6 years and older. Indications and Usage for Methylphenidate ER Capsules Assess the risk of abuse prior to prescribing, and monitor for signs of abuse and dependence while on therapy. CNS stimulants, including Methylphenidate Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, other methylphenidate-containing products, and amphetamines, have a high potential for abuse and dependence.
